The CWGC Experience

The CWGC Experience is new visitor centre giving the public ‘behind the scenes’ access to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s operational headquarters in Northern France.
The design scheme opens up the centre’s workshops to visitors to show the high technology equipment and traditional craftsmanship in action, while also conveying the scale of the operation and its geographical reach, supplying more than 23,000 locations in over 150 countries and territories across the world.
An exhibition sensitively illustrates how human remains are recovered from the battlefields, identified, and reburied, a process which is still ongoing more than a century after the end of the First World War.
